Telecommunications and Internet technologies are one of the most important areas of the IT sector, which is developing rapidly. In general, telecommunications are the transmission, emission and / or reception of signs, signals, written text, images and sounds or messages of any kind by radio, wired, optical or other electromagnetic systems. The main branches of telecommunications today are: the Internet, mobile communications, data networks, satellite communication systems, digital and analog television, telephone communications, electronic banking, postal communications.
In the course of training in the specialty “Telecommunications and Radio Engineering” students study disciplines that provide modern ideas about information, methods of its processing, distribution and protection in telecommunication systems and networks; in-depth knowledge of modern information and communication technologies and electronic components and technical means of communication.
A significant amount of disciplines provide students with profound skills in programming telecommunications networks and mobile communications devices. By studying telecommunications, which are the basis of most modern information technologies, students can easily master the related areas of IT: software and computer engineering, security of information and communication systems.
The future of this specialty is determined by the fact that Telecommunications in Ukraine is one of the most and most innovatively oriented sectors of the economy, the main goal of which is to ensure the interests of each consumer and Ukrainian society as a whole, to create a highly developed information and telecommunication infrastructure
The field of activity of a telecommunications specialist includes such branches of the economy:
- Telecommunications (telecommunications);
- Data processing, posting of information on websites and related activities;
- The activities of the national mail.
The telecommunications specialist provides Internet access to users, designs fiber-optic networks, provides IP-telephony services, is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring the network, its development, and ensures high-quality and reliable operation of the systems. It installs video surveillance systems, burglar and fire alarms, sound alerts, etc. at the enterprises.
Higher Education Level: First Bachelor’s Level
Duration of study: 4 years, 2 (3) years on a reduced program
Qualifications: Bachelor of Telecommunications and Radio Engineering
Object of study: The set of innovative technologies, tools, methods and methods of human activity aimed at creating conditions for processing, storing and exchanging information at a distance using various network structures and the use of electromagnetic oscillations and waves in radar and radio navigation, to monitor and control machines, mechanisms and technological processes of electronic, medical equipment, measuring devices and systems.
