The partners of the department

The beginning of the cooperation of the ITTS department with DP “Siemens Ukraine” reaches 2002, when on the basis of the department, on the initiative of VOTUM LLC (Ivano-Frankivsk), as a partner of DP “Siemens Ukraine”, a laboratory of an integrated software system was created automation of SIMATIC concern “Siemens”. With the assistance of Siemens Ukraine, it was equipped with modern at that time management tools and related software.

A new stage in the development of the Laboratory begins after the signing of an agreement of intent in February 2008 on the further development and expansion of long-term cooperation between the Institute for Phytosanitary Education and Siemens Siemens Ukraine in the framework of the Science to Business – das Programmin der Ukraine program of the Siemens concern. of higher technical education, as well as agreement No. 81102477 of May 16, 2008 between Siemens Ukraine LLC and the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) on support for German-speaking training in the Institute of Physical and Technical Engineering and mechatronic systems for the oil and gas industry of Ukraine.

Founded in October 1847 by artillery officer Werner von Siemens (1816-1892) and mechanic Johann Georg Galske (1814-1890), Siemens Telegraph and Galske Telegraphic Enterprise in a very short period of time became the leading global company in the field of electricity. The basis of the business was the arrow telegraph for transmitting messages over long distances. Preceded by teletype, he created the prerequisites for the emergence of communication technology and signaling technology. In 1866, with the discovery of the dynamo-electric principle, Werner von Siemens created the basis of electrical engineering – one of the main areas of his business.

Siemens AG (Berlin and Munich) is an international technology concern that for more than 165 years has been synonymous with technical irresistibility, innovation, quality, reliability and global presence. The company operates in more than 200 countries, paying particular attention to electrification, automation and digitalization. One of the world’s largest producers of energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies, Siemens is the leader in offshore wind turbine construction and is the leading supplier of combined-cycle turbines for power generation, as well as power transmission solutions, infrastructure and automation solutions, as well as drives and software solutions for industry.

In April 2016, agreement No. 1-0416-HWPMC-NTUOG was signed between the Foreign enterprise Honeywell Ukraine and the Institute for Scientific and Technical Information on creative, scientific and educational cooperation. As part of the agreement, in June-August 2016, the ITTS department transferred the latest developments of hardware and software and sensors to the amount of more than 800 thousand UAH, which allowed to organize a laboratory of Smart-technologies based on Honeywell equipment.

Honeywell is a Fortune 100 corporation that develops and implements technologies to solve complex problems dictated by global macro trends such as security and energy efficiency. The company employs around 132,000 people worldwide, of which more than 19,000 are engineers and scientists. The corporation pays constant attention to quality, productivity, customer benefits and manufacturability of everything we do and produce.

Tools for achieving corporate goals

Honeywell’s ability to constantly improve is the result of the successful implementation of two seemingly contradictory goals – productivity and development. The tools for their implementation are Honeywell’s global internal business processes that guarantee efficiency and quality of service. Through these processes, the company brings world-class products and services to the market faster and at lower cost to customers.

A brief history of HONEYWELL

The story of Honeywell dates back to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the controller and heat alarm. On April 23, 1886, he founded the company Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co. in Minneapolis, and a few weeks later invented a simple but original device, which he called the “valve regulator”.

Patents and Butz’s Enterprise were acquired by Consolidated Temperature Controlling Co. Incorporated, in 1893, changed its name to Electric Heat Regulator Co. The first advertisements of the company, published in 1895, featured a thermostat, becoming famous at that time. In 1898 the company was acquired by VRSvitt, who until 1916 changed the company name to Minneapolis Heat Regulator Company, expanded its product range and patented the first electric motor, was approved by Underwriters Laboratories.

In 1927, Minneapolis Heat Regulator Company and Honeywell Heating Specialty Co., merged to form Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co., which became the largest manufacturer of high-quality chronometers. V.Svitt became chairman of the board, and Mark Honeywell – president. The company has acquired several companies involved in the production of control equipment. One of these enterprises was the company Brown Instrument Co. – the world leader in the field of industrial instrumentation and indicators.

By 1998, the company operated in 95 countries through 83 subsidiaries with 100% participation and 13 joint ventures.

Products, development and acquisitions that are directly related to the direction of the ITTS department.

Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. took full advantage of her scientific potential and engineering talents to transform and adapt to changing times. Improved mass production; The company’s product range has been extended with a series of aeronautical equipment. In 1942, the company invented the electronic autopilot, which played an extremely important role in the combat operations of the United States.

In 1955, a joint venture with Raytheon Corp. was founded, which was called Datamatic Corporation and meant the arrival of Honeywell in the computer business. The company’s first computer system, the D-1000, weighed 25 tons, occupied 56 square meters and cost 1.5 million US dollars.

In 1960, Raytheon’s share in the computer joint venture was bought out and the company became known as Electronic Data Processing (EDP). The company officially became known as Honeywell Inc. in 1963, although in everyday life she wore this name at that time for almost 40 years. Six years later, Honeywell instruments helped the American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin land on the moon.

In 1970, Honeywell merged its computer business with General Electric, founding Honeywell Information Systems, which performed well on the mainframe market. In 1986, with the advent of personal computers, a joint venture was created with Compagnie des Machines Bull (France) and NEC Corporation (Japan), called Honeywell Bull. Honeywell’s ownership in this joint venture gradually declined, and in 1991, the company left the computer business. The company’s achievements in the digital computer field were then applied to its traditional specialization — automatic control, integration of sensors and control devices.

In 1986, Honeywell significantly strengthened its position in the aerospace industry through the acquisition of Sperry Aerospace, which made Honeywell the world’s leading integrator of onboard electronic systems. With the acquisition of Sperry, Honeywell has added a range of flight controls, spacecraft, and the first wind direction change warning system certified by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency.

One of the divisions of the corporation includes automation and control systems.

The Honeywell product range and solutions give customers the ability to get more quality data based on wireless communications, increasing productivity, technical and information security.

The capabilities of the Honeywell UOP and its expertise in modular plant construction are suitable for gas processing on land and at sea, gas purification and natural gas liquid fractions.

Providing industrial gas control, measuring and analytical equipment for utilities and other gas users. A wide range of products and systems for inventory management and tanker terminal operations.

The Honeywell product range for the oil and gas industry includes end-explosion-proof switches, pressure sensors, and a full range of wireless sensors, switches and monitors.
